Pallet & Crate Manufacturer Changes Business Name, Changes Online Strategy
Anderson Pallet & Crate called on epicShops to build a website that reflected their new ownership and operating team — and then get it found on the web.
When Anderson Pallet & Crate joined epicShops in the summer of 2018, they were looking for an updated web design for a 30 year old business. New owners, Jason and Carolyn Anderson, knew their online presence was in need of a refresh, and wanted to make sure their time and money would get them a website that would convert visitors into customers.
Using a modern theme, a new logo and high-quality photos, Anderson was able to give their website a big visual facelift. But it didn’t stop there. Our Epic team also made the site conversion-ready. In other words, highlighting value propositions, motivating action-taking, and making Anderson’s conversions (a phone call or completed order form) super easy for customers to find and follow through.
At launch in mid-2018, with a new URL and all new site content, Anderson Pallet & Crate started at the bottom of the stack for local SEO rankings. Over the last six months of the year, Anderson moved from an average ranking of 71.38 for target keywords to 25.70, nearly a 50 point ranking increase!
Just yesterday, we added two new customers who came through our website! This week we had 6 calls from prospective customers that found us via Google, and currently in discussions with the other 4 companies to quote their business!
Last week we gained another large account so everything is working!
We are so happy we chose you guys as a partner and excited to see where the future takes us!

Driving Traffic from Local and National Search
In the Denver area, Anderson in is competition with other manufacturers within city limits (they sit outside the city in Sedalia, CO), as well as businesses who have been in business with the same name and URL for 10+ years. Our first step was thorough keyword research, to determine which keywords people were searching locally, which keywords competitors were ranking for, and where to most opportunity for fast growth could be found (low hanging fruit).
Since beginning in June, we’ve seen 50 point jumps in rankings for some of our top keywords, as well as front page rankings for some of the highest volume keywords on our list.

Content Driven, Listings Focused
As a new URL in a large field of competitors, we first looked for holes where other manufacturers were falling short. This led to a content-focused strategy, creating monthly pages centered around industry-specific keywords.
We also immediately went to work changing Anderson’s directory listings and citations across the web, as they all had the company’s previous business name listed. By directing existing listings to the new website, we were able to see big jumps quickly in both ranking and traffic.
As we all get busy and don’t always take the time to say THANKS, we wanted to tell you that we are very pleased with the work you are doing and we are noticing that we are getting more traffic!
What’s next for Anderson Pallet & Crate
With big national competitors, such as Home Depot, Anderson will need to stay on the ball to continue holding single-digit rankings for some of their highest traffic keywords. By continuing to generate new content, employing a backlink strategy, and partnering with local and national directories for listings, Anderson is on track for stable growth in some of their most steady keywords for 2019 and beyond.
